Meyer, Carl Walter
Carl Walter Meyer was born in 1965 in Aliwal North, Cape Province. A painter and graphic artist of
landscapes, portraits, still life, wildlife and abstract paintings. Works in oil, acrylic, watercolour,
gouache, ink, wash, pencil, charcoal and in various graphic media. Sculpts I wood. He studied in
1983-84 at the University of Pretoria, under Professor Nico Roos and John Clarke. In 1985-86
Staatliche Kunstakademie, West Germany, under Professor Michael Buthe.
He has participated in several group exhibitions from 1983 in SA and West Germany, 1986 Pierneef
Gallery, Pretoria, solo exhibition.
In 1985 First Prize for Painting, SAAA, Pretoria.
